We see couples for a variety of issues including:
Couple therapy is tailored to your needs. Sessions are 60 minutes long. We work together to determine the optimal frequency and course of therapy. We may include some "individual" sessions as part of the couple therapy. This gives me an opportunity to get each partner's unique perspective on the relationship.
Our approach draws on:
- Gottman Method - evidence based approach focused on increasing mutual understanding, awareness, empathy, and connectedness
- Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) - focused on the importance of emotional awareness and emotional regulation as it applies to interactional patterns
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - focused on identifying and shifting unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns
